This entry-level role (1-2 years of software or data engineering experience) is ideal for someone who loves data, enjoys solving problems, working with a driven team, and wants to help create the next generation of retail capabilities.\nFoundational knowledge of software and data engineering is important, plus the grit to learn fast, navigate roadblocks, and take ownership of meaningful projects from day one. You’ll work closely with our retail pillar stakeholders to provide valuable solutions while also helping automate workflows, build data pipelines, and support new software tools.\nKey Responsibilities\nData Infrastructure Responsibilities (80%)\nAutomate data ingestion by integrating diverse data sources requiring different skillsets and building efficient pipelines.\nBuild, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines using company-standard tools and cloud architecture.\nServe as backend data owner for new internal software - validating data quality, defining logic flows, and supporting functional requirements.\nDiagnose data issues, validate outputs, and maintain consistency across reporting layers.\nDocument processes, data models, and logic to create a sustainable, maintainable ecosystem.\nTake on increasingly complex projects as technical depth grows.\nMeet with product owners and stakeholders to ensure you are up to date on the needs of that retail pillarRetail Innovation (20%)\n\nWorking with the greater team to build innovative software solutions that serve Bluebird at scale\nCreate industry-leading tools that continue to serve our brands and internal team at a high level\nWorking as a team to ideate, architect, and surface valuable software solutions\nQualifications\nRequired:\nAzure infrastructure familiarity (or equivalent experience with AWS/GCP and ability to adapt).\nStrong SQL skills and understanding of relational data modeling.\nPython for data engineering (ingestion, transformation, modeling).\nExperience building and orchestrating data pipelines, including REST/GraphQL API integration.\n0-2 years in software engineering or data engineering.\nUnderstand databases, data structures, and data cleaning/transformation.\nExperience with SQL, Python, and BI tools.\nStrong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.\nGit and github\nOptional but Valuable\nFamiliarity with Next.js / Node.js / static web apps (useful for internal tool extensions).\nPower BI experience for dashboards and analytical visualizations.\nAzure AI Foundry\nBenefits\nWe offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:\n· Parking/Commuting Stipend (for those working in our Minneapolis office)\n· Cell Phone Plan or Reimbursement\n· Medical\n· Dental\n· Vision\n· HSA (with employer match)\n· Short Term and Long-Term Disability\n· Life Insurance\n· 401(k) (with employer match)\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.
