The care team in the department is highly trained in all aspects of patient care but excels in our primary mission of both trauma and neurological emergency care. The department has 20 beds with 2 dedicated trauma rooms with a focus on timely, patient centered and collaborative care.\nKey Accountabilities:\nReceives direction and assignments from licensed team members and provides technical support to optimize patient care.\nReports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate licensed team members to ensure safe, quality patient care.\nCompletes documentation based on procedures and care provided to ensure an accurate and complete medical record.\nReinforces patient education under the direction of licensed team members to ensure the continuum of care.\nAssists with patient transport to other departments as appropriate.\nAssists in maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and turning over rooms as required.\n Qualifications:\nHigh School diploma or GED preferred• Must be 18 years of age\nOne year applicable healthcare experience\nState of Wisconsin EMT-B, State of Wisconsin CNA Certification or current nursing student.\nAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)\n Physical Demands:\nAbility to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance\nJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties\nWork Environment:\nFrequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments\nOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock\nOccasional high noise level in work environment\nPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents\nOccasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients\nPosition requires compliance with department specific competencies.\nScheduled Weekly Hours:\n30Scheduled FTE:\n0.75Location:\nThedaCare Regional Medical Center -
