Furthers the professional practice of nursing at ThedaCare by promoting a culture of innovation and a commitment to growth and professional development.Job Description:\nSCHEDULE:\nMix of 6 or 8 hour shifts with working hours built between 6-4:30p\nSelf schedule\nCall required 1x biweekly and every 6-8th weekend (Fri-Mon)\nCall is at our ThedaCare Appleton Hospital\nCall response time 30 minutes\n1-2 holidays per year required\nUNIT DETAILS (Endoscopy):\nEndoscopy nurses work in collaboration with doctors to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract. Responsible for educating patients about their disease or condition and providing treatment for GI tract problems, ulcers, dyspepsia, carcinoma, dysphagia and bariatric intervention. Administering and evaluating pharmacological and other therapeutic treatment regimens mandated by the particular situation, evidence-based practice, and recent advancements in gastroenterology. Nurses and GI technicians assist physicians in a wide variety of surgical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an OR/ procedural room setting. Providing pre, intra, and post procedure care to the patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nUtilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.\nPlans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.\nDemonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.\nIdentifies ways to improve the patient’s experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.\nContributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.\nProvides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.\nDemonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risk to prevent crises. 8. Performs skillfully in life threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crises situations.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nCurrent Wisconsin RN Licensure\nAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)\nAssociates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required\nBachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance\nJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties\nManual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nFrequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments\nOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock\nOccasional high noise level in work environment\nStanding and/or walking for extended periods of time\nTransporting, transferring, positioning patients and/or equipment from one location to another;
