Follows standard work processes, complies with infection prevention standards, properly mixes and stores chemicals, and uses personal protective equipment.Job Description:\nSchedule:\n4p-12:30a M-F\nEvery other weekend required\nRotating holidays required\nPosition Summary\nThe Operating Room Cleaner is responsible for performing terminal cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms at the end of each surgical day. Terminal cleaning is a comprehensive cleaning process that includes every surface within the operating room, from ceiling to floor, ensuring the environment is clean, safe, and ready for future patient care.\nThis position plays a critical role in infection prevention and patient safety by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and disinfection throughout the surgical environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in thorough cleaning, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe environment for patients, physicians, and surgical staff.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nCleans and disinfects patient rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, equipment, furniture, common areas, and waiting rooms following hospital-approved infection prevention standards.\nCollaborates with multiple departments to ensure patient and department priorities are met day-to-day that result in the safest outcome for our patients and customers.\nWorks independently or on a team to achieve system standards.\nWorks with multiple departments to ensure patient and department priorities are met resulting in the safest outcomes.\nLearns and uses required personal protective equipment per infection prevention protocol.\nUnderstands and uses proper hospital-approved chemicals and disinfectants and follows dwell times (amount of time the chemical or disinfectant needs to stay wet on surface) for each task performed and product used.\nUnderstands how to handle various types of waste such as regular, recycling, hazardous, chemo, regulated medical waste, pharmaceutical, and radioactive.
