Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Is responsible for patient outcomes that meet high quality of care standards.Job Description:\nSCHEDULE:\nFull time, salaried position\n\nMonday- Friday, Days\n\nSupport Manager in Inpatient Services\n\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nUtilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and unit-specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the inter-professional team.\n\nMonitors compliance with standards of care by observation, verbal reports, audits, and written documentation, with feedback loops to department leaders, providers, and team members.\n\nDemonstrates emotional intelligence and confidence and maintains composure during conflict. Serves with integrity and sets a positive example at all times.\n\nProvides input and supports the department leaders in interviewing and hiring, appraisal performance, mentoring, motivating, coaching, and retention of team members.\n\nActs strategically, understands and can manage change, and assists team members through transitions. Advocates for stakeholders to meet strategic goals, and assists team members in understanding how their day-to-day jobs contribute to organizational strategy.\n\nProvides feedback to peers in a constructive manner, keeps information confidential, and develops and maintains lateral, cross-boundary relationships.\n\nPlans for the total care needs of the patient in collaboration with the inter-professional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.\n\nDemonstrates clinical expertise in the clinical specialty of assigned responsibility with the ability to perform all functions of the professional clinical nurse that are age appropriate and culturally specific.\n\nProvides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other inter-professional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.\n\nCollaborates on department/clinic schedules, monitors staffing levels, and provides input to the budget preparation/monitoring and the identification of workload variability to predict and plan for appropriate staffing to enhance productivity/efficiency and maintain quality care.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain BSN within five years for current ThedaCare RNs\n\nCurrent Wisconsin RN license\n\nAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)\n\nThree years of clinical experience\n\nTwo years of experience leading projects, a council/committee, and/or clinical improvement work.\n\nAdditional Endoscopy requirements:\nAmerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)\n\nAdditional OR and PACU requirements:\nAmerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)\n\nAmerican Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)\n\nAdditional Emergency Department Requirements:\nAmerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)\nAmerican Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)\nTrauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance\n\nJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nFrequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments\n\nOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock\n\nOccasional high noise level in work environment\n\nPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents\n\nStanding and/or walking for extended periods of time\n\nTransporting, transferring, positioning patients and/or equipment from one location to another;
