This role will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient services. Come see if this is the right fit for you!The Supervisor, Respiratory Therapy oversees the day-to-day operations of the respiratory therapy department and ensures team members safely and proficiently perform the duties of a respiratory therapist. Organizes and supervises the daily workflow, creates department schedules, and reallocates team members and resources based on patient census and acuity. Discusses patient treatment plans with physicians and clinical team members. Ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements and department policies and procedures. Promotes and strengthens employee engagement, process improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and workplace safety. Maintains and enhances interpersonal relationships with medical staff, team members, patients, and visitors. Provides direct patient care services or consultation to support workflow.\nJob Description:\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nDemonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of assessment, reassessment, development, and implementation of the patient’s respiratory plan of care. Consults with other disciplines as may be required to coordinate patient care services.\n\nIs accountable for day-to-day operations including team member performance expectations, implementation of action plans, work processes, scheduling, and resource management to support patient demand.\n\nOversees development of standards of care, preferred practice patterns, protocols, and clinical procedures using evidence-based practice to ensure quality care.\n\nProvides oversight, feedback, and education to ensure accurate billing, coding to maximize reimbursement, and compliance.\n\nDevelops and evaluates standards for assigned units in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Maintains necessary documentation for accreditation purposes as well as operational delivery.\n\nEnsures adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment as required for units. Maintains liaison with equipment and supply vendors to maximize best practices.\n\nFacilitates educational activities necessary to enhance and maintain mandatory service, specific competencies, and continuing education programs to team members. Serves as a clinical resource to members of the healthcare team.\n\nAssists in determining fiscal requirements for budgetary recommendations. Compiles data for operational reports and analyzes progress and trends, and makes appropriate recommendations to enhance strategic effectiveness.\n\nProactively ensures positive patient experience and provides service recovery to support putting the patient and family first.\n\nAssists in evaluation of equipment purchases to balance best practice with financial prudence.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nAssociate’s degree in respiratory therapy\n\nThree years of clinical experience\n\nRegistered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and licensed by the State of Wisconsin\n\nAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance\n\nJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nClimate controlled office or home setting\n\nInteraction with department members and other healthcare providers\n\nOccasional to frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments\n\nOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock\n\nPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents\n\nOccasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients\n\nUse of computers throughout the work day\n\nFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers\n\nScheduled Weekly Hours:\n40Scheduled FTE:\n1Location:\nThedaCare Regional Medical Center -
