Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the CFO, you’ll run critical parts of our accounting operations, from monthly close and reconciliations to audit prep and cross-functional reporting.\nYou’ll also play a hands-on role in modernizing how our finance team works. We’re rebuilding our processes with AI and automation, and we want someone who is excited to use these tools day to day and to help design better, faster workflows.\nThis role is ideal for an accounting professional who brings both structure and flexibility, thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments, and takes pride in accurate, well-documented work.\nLocation\nThis is a hybrid role based in our NYC office.\nWhat You’ll Do\nExecute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis\nPrepare and reconcile monthly premium remittances to insurance carrier partners\nUse AI tools and automation to streamline recurring work such as reconciliations, flux analysis, and reporting, and document improved workflows\nPartner with the Controller to test, implement, and refine new finance tools and processes\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policies across all accounting activities\nMaintain and strengthen internal controls, including clear documentation of processes and procedures\nPrepare audit schedules and support the annual financial audit\nSupport the preparation of financial statements and management reports\nCollaborate with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and Product to ensure accurate financial reporting\nAssist with regulatory filings, tax compliance, and other ad hoc projects as needed\nWhat You Bring\nCPA license preferred\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s a plus\n5+ years of relevant experience, ideally including time at a public accounting firm and in insurance or brokerage\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls\nHands-on proficiency with AI tools in your work, and curiosity about using them to rebuild manual processes\nExperience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks and NetSuite strongly preferred\nHigh attention to detail and excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills\nSelf-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment\nBenefits\nOpportunities to make an impact within a fast growing company\nMedical, dental, & vision insurance, beginning day one\nHealth savings account with employer contribution\nFlexible spending accounts (healthcare, dependent care, commuter)\n401(k)\nGenerous PTO and paid holidays\nIn-office lunch perk\nFlexible working hours\nPaid parental leave\nCompany sponsored short and long term disability\nBase Salary\nThe base salary range is between $180,000 - $210,000 annually.\nBase salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
