You will support chapters in developing and implementing strategies, programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen the member experience and contribute to membership recruitment, retention, and certification growth.\nThe Associate Manager will also collaborate across The IIA to help ensure chapters have the resources, information, and support they need to achieve their goals while remaining aligned with organizational priorities and The IIA's global strategic plan.\nThis is an ideal opportunity for a relationship-focused professional with experience in association, nonprofit, community, volunteer, or member engagement who enjoys building partnerships, coordinating initiatives, and helping volunteer leaders and communities succeed.\nWork Arrangement\nThis is a hybrid position based in Lake Mary, Florida. The role requires occasional travel for in-person chapter visits, meetings, events, and other chapter engagement activities.\nWhat You'll Do\nServe as a primary point of contact and trusted resource for assigned chapter leaders, providing ongoing guidance, support, and consultative assistance.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with chapter leaders, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen collaboration and engagement.\nSupport chapters in developing and implementing strategies, programs, events, and initiatives aligned with The IIA's mission, standards, and organizational priorities.\nPartner with chapters to establish and achieve goals related to membership recruitment and retention, certification growth, and overall chapter development.\nFacilitate effective communication between IIA Headquarters and chapters, ensuring chapter leaders receive timely resources, updates, information, and organizational guidance.\nProvide mentoring and support to chapter leaders and volunteers to strengthen their effectiveness and overall chapter performance.\nCollaborate with subject matter experts to develop training resources that support continuous learning and align with organizational goals.\nOrganize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and other development opportunities that equip chapter leaders and volunteers with the knowledge and resources to succeed.\nCollaborate with chapter leaders to coordinate and execute chapter events and initiatives.\nSet up and manage event registrations and utilize event management tools to support efficient event coordination.\nEnsure chapter events and initiatives align with The IIA's mission, values, and established objectives.\nParticipate in occasional in-person chapter visits and meetings and prepare comprehensive meeting minutes as needed.\nMaintain accurate records and track key performance metrics related to chapter activities, events, initiatives, and volunteer involvement.\nEstablish and support processes for gathering feedback from chapter leaders, volunteers, and members.\nAnalyze chapter activity and feedback to identify trends, strengths, opportunities, and areas for improvement.\nPrepare regular reports and provide insights that support chapter engagement strategies and organizational decision-making.\nCollaborate across The IIA to strengthen the overall member experience and advance organizational goals aligned with the global strategic plan.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience in nonprofit, association, community, member, volunteer, or stakeholder engagement.\nStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and volunteer leaders.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and initiatives.\nAbility to provide consultative guidance, support, and mentoring to volunteer leaders.\nAbility to effectively coordinate events, meetings, training sessions, and chapter initiatives.\nProficiency with software and tools used for data management, tracking, and reporting.\nAbility to maintain accurate records, monitor performance metrics, collect feedback, and identify meaningful trends.\nAbility and willingness to travel occasionally for chapter visits, meetings, events, and other engagement activities.\nAbility to develop a foundational understanding of internal audit principles and the evolving needs of the profession after joining The IIA.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in nonprofit management, community development, business, communications, or a related field.\nAssociation management or not-for-profit experience.\nKnowledge of nonprofit governance, volunteer management, and chapter development best practices.\nExperience supporting membership recruitment, retention, or engagement initiatives.\nExperience developing or coordinating training and development resources for volunteers or member communities.\nExperience with event management platforms, particularly Cvent.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThe Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
