As the full-time Rising Roots Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program. This program provides hands-on training for youth ages 16-25, focusing on microgreens production, food systems, entrepreneurship, and life skills development. You will work on-site across greenhouse, garden, and community locations.\nKey responsibilities include:\nCoordinate and facilitate weekly program sessions for youth participants.\nSupport youth engagement, mentorship, and participation tracking throughout the program.\nOversee planting, growing, and harvesting processes in microgreens and urban agriculture projects.\nTrack program data and outcomes to ensure effective delivery and impact.\nManage partnerships, outreach efforts, and program logistics with community stakeholders.\nFoster a supportive and inclusive environment for youth development and workforce training.\nThis role is ideal for individuals passionate about youth empowerment, social justice, and urban agriculture, with a commitment to supporting BIPOC communities and cultivating the next generation of farmers and entrepreneurs.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications:\n3+ years of experience in program coordination or youth development\nExperience working with youth ages 16-25\nExperience working with diverse communities\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace\nExperience using Monday.com for project tracking or CRM\nExperience with microgreens production or urban agriculture programs\nAble to lift 30-40 lbs and perform standing, bending, and light labor indoors and outdoors\nValid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between the classroom, greenhouse, garden, and community sites\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience facilitating group sessions or trainings\nAvailability for 2 evenings per week during the 10-week program for 3 cycles.\nBenefits\nThis role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, social justice, and community-based agriculture, with a focus on supporting BIPOC communities and empowering the next generation of farmers and entrepreneurs.\nThe Rising Roots program is a program of Making A Difference Foundation.
