In 2021, we established The MAMA AI technology group.\nWho are we looking for?\nexperienced Senior Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer who will take an active role in designing, building and operating the infrastructure behind a growing AI technology company.\n\nYou should be a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across the entire infrastructure stack — from physical hardware and networking to Linux, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and production services.\n\nThe ideal candidate has strong practical experience in infrastructure and systems administration, a good understanding of networking and security, and the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.\n\nIn your role you will eventually…\nTake ownership of infrastructure and security operations across our physical and cloud computing environments.\n\nDesign, build and operate our hosted physical data center and public cloud infrastructure.\n\nAdminister and maintain our technology stack across multiple layers, including:\n\nphysical servers and hardware,\n\nnetworking,\n\nLinux operating systems,\n\nvirtualization using XCP-ng,\n\nKubernetes clusters,\n\nand application-level infrastructure.\n\nMonitor infrastructure and production services and analyse operational data to improve reliability, performance and security.\n\nPerform DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) activities for our production services, currently with a strong focus on VoIP telephony.\n\nTroubleshoot complex infrastructure and production issues and help ensure the availability and reliability of critical services.\n\nContribute to infrastructure architecture and technical decisions as the company and its technology stack grow.\n\nParticipate in R&D activities in AI, speech and language processing and work with a broad range of modern technologies.\n\nHelp us maintain our strong focus on open-source technologies and solutions.\n\nThis is a broad technical role with significant room for ownership, autonomy and professional growth. You will have the opportunity to work across many layers of modern infrastructure rather than being limited to a single technology or area.\nWhile local candidates are preferred, the position can also be performed remotely from anywhere in the world.\nWe expect you to have:\nSeveral years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, systems administration, SRE or a related field.\n\nStrong practical knowledge of:\n\nLinux and the command line\n\nBash and shell scripting\n\nTCP/IP networking\n\nsystems and network administration\n\nExperience operating and troubleshooting production infrastructure.\n\nAbility to independently diagnose problems, find their root causes and implement robust solutions.\n\nGood understanding of IT security and infrastructure reliability.\n\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with other engineers.\n\nEnglish sufficient for reading technical documentation and communicating with colleagues in Slack and other technical discussions.\n\nA university degree in IT, electrical engineering or another technical field is welcome, but proven practical experience is more important to us than formal education.\n\nSkills that are a plus\nExperience with any of the following is highly welcome:\nvirtualization, ideally XCP-ng or similar technologies,\n\nKubernetes,\n\npublic cloud platforms,\n\nIT and infrastructure security,\n\nsystems and infrastructure monitoring,\n\nnetworking and network security,\n\nPython, Bash or other scripting/programming languages,\n\nphysical servers, hardware and hands-on troubleshooting,\n\nVoIP and telecommunications infrastructure.\n\nYou do not need to be an expert in every technology listed above.
