This position is responsible for preparing detailed structural calculations, reviewing designs for constructability, and providing hands-on engineering support for concrete and steel structures in the field. The ideal candidate will bring a strong command of industry codes and standards-including ACI, AISC, and ASME -and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.\nResponsibilities\nPerform structural analysis for steel and concrete including seismic analysis, shield, and anchoring systems.\nInterface with field crews, design engineers, quality assurance, and subcontractors to coordinate technical solutions and resolve issues.\nTroubleshoot, resolve field issues, and provide technical justifications for design changes during fabrication and assembly.\nPrepare and review design drawings, specifications, technical reports, and calculations.\nEnsure compliance with nuclear safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7).\nCoordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, construction, procurement, vendors) and conduct site walkdowns to inspect, verify, and approve installations.\nExecute independent engineering tasks and assume technical responsibility for assigned projects\nReview and verify engineering work performed by others, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.\nResolve technical issues (typically non-complex), justify design decisions, and interpret engineering data\nOriginate and validate engineering deliverables including drawings, design reviews, change control documents, and calculation notes\nExperience\nBS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university\n8+ years of experience\nProficiency in structural analysis software (e.g. STAAD.Pro, GT STRUDL, ANSYS) and CAD/ED modeling tools (AutoCAD, Tekla)\nFamiliarity with steel fabrication processes, design for fabrication methods, support construction/installation activities for major steel structures\nConstruction Experience\nAbility for occasional travel to plant sites\nPreferred Experience\nStandard Design Qualifications\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license\nNuclear Experience\n Data-Driven Field Issue Resolution: Familiarity with data analytics or machine learning techniques applied to field inspection data, site walkdown findings, or construction quality metrics to identify trends, predict potential issues, and support faster technical justifications for design change.\nAI-Enhanced Structural Analysis: Experience using AI/ML-augmented structural analysis tools alongside traditional software (e.g, STADD.Pro, GT STRUDL, ANSYS) to accelerate seismic analysis, load path optimization and structural design iterations for concrete and steel systems. \nBenefits\nCompetitive compensation packages\n401k with company match\nMedical, dental, vision plans\nGenerous vacation policy, plus holidays\nEstimated Starting Salary Range\n The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis.
