As a team of special education providers, we understand the educational process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.\nOur mission is to provide high-quality, student-centered services while creating meaningful connections within collaborative learning environments.\nPosition Details\nFull-time: 36-38 hours per week\nSchool year: September 2026-May 2027\nGrades: Elementary or Elementary - High School\nSetting: On-site, in-person\nPay: $55-$60/hour, based on experience and employment arrangement\n Weekly compensation is based on 37.5 hours\nGuaranteed hours, including designated documentation, planning, and administrative time\nManageable caseload\nSupport from both the school district and TheraPeds Partners\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help students develop the speech, language, and communication skills needed to access their education and participate successfully in the school environment.\nYour responsibilities may include:\nProviding direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in small groups\nConducting speech and language evaluations and assessments\nDeveloping, implementing, and monitoring individualized IEP goals\nEvaluating student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on student needs and data\nProviding consultation and support to teachers, special education staff, and families\nSupporting students with articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and other communication needs\nSupporting students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as appropriate\nMonitoring student performance and collecting data to measure progress\nCompleting timely and accurate documentation and progress reports\nParticipating in IEP, eligibility, reevaluation, and interdisciplinary team meetings\nManaging assigned student caseloads and required documentation\nCollaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals\nProviding case management services, as assigned\nWhat We're Looking For\nMaster's or doctoral degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program\nActive or eligible for Kansas City Speech-Language Pathologist licensure\nAppropriate Kansas City Department of Education certification or credential for school-based practice, as required\n ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred\n Clinical Fellowship (CF-SLP) candidates may be considered, with appropriate supervision available\nExperience working with children\nSchool-based experience preferred, but not required\nStrong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring\nKnowledge of the IEP process and special education services\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nExcellent organizational, documentation, case-management, and time-management skills\nComfortable using technology for documentation, communication, assessment, and service delivery\nAbility to successfully complete required fingerprinting and background clearances\nAbility to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, administrators, and related-service professionals\nProfessionalism, tact, discretion, and respect for student and family confidentiality\nRequirements\nMaster's or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program\nState License as Speech-Language Pathologist\nDepartment of Education Licensure as a SLP\nNational License: ASHA \nLicensing with the State Department of Education, where required\nCCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred\nCF-SLP placement may be available\nExperience working with children\nExperience in a school setting preferred, but not required\nOrganizational and time management skills\nProficient in use of technology\nFingerprint background clearance\nAbility to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications\nPhysical Requirements\nSchool-based therapy is active and hands-on. The Provider must be able to safely participate with students in a variety of school environments and activities.
