You will write code in our services, make security decisions at the implementation level, own the maturity of our database and permission models, and set implementation targets that our R&D DevOps partners build against. Sitting alongside our engineering team as the senior technical voice on infrastructure and security, you will have real decision-making authority. We are early in our platform maturity, and you will be the person who takes us from a working system to a resilient one.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\n- Architecture & Maturity : Own the architecture of our backend and frontend applications, guiding both toward long-term maturity and resilience.\n\n- Hands-on Development : Write production code in Python services with a sharp focus on security, reliability, and architectural soundness.\n\n- Security & Compliance : Partner with InfoSec to implement robust security controls, design access permissions, and systematically reduce our attack surface.\n\n- Database Engineering : Mature PostgreSQL practices, including data modeling, schema design, role management, performance tuning, and recovery.\n\n- Access Control : Establish and enforce best practices for Identity and Access Management (IAM) across all production systems.\n\n- DevOps Collaboration : Define infrastructure implementation targets for the R&D DevOps team and verify delivery against them.\n\n- AWS Migration : Support the ongoing migration of services to AWS, setting target architecture and validating deployment results.\n\n- Code Reviews & Mentorship : Mentor engineers on secure coding and architecture, and review security-relevant code changes across services.\n\n- Reliability & On-Call : Identify root causes of recurring failures to implement lasting fixes.
