You’ll work closely with our fabrication, field, project, and BIM/VDC teams to inspect work, verify materials and documentation, identify potential quality issues, and help make sure our HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems meet project specifications and quality standards.\nIf you have a strong eye for detail, experience around mechanical fabrication and welding, and enjoy working alongside project teams to solve problems before they impact the job, this is a great opportunity to join Therma as we continue to grow in Boise.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform quality inspections of fabricated and installed mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related equipment\nInspect incoming materials and equipment for damage, defects, and compliance with project requirements\nPerform dimensional and orientation checks against spool drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications\nInspect weld quality and verify fabricated spools meet applicable quality requirements\nConduct shop and field walkdowns, system verification, and planned inspections and testing throughout fabrication, installation, startup, and turnover\nVerify that fabricated spools are properly identified, documented, protected, staged, and ready for shipment\nMaintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection logs, test reports, RFIs, submittals, redlines/as-builts, weld logs, and related records\nHelp maintain material and component traceability from fabrication through field installation\nIdentify and document nonconforming work and assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely resolution\nSupport preparation of QA/QC documentation and project turnover packages\nCoordinate closely with Fabrication, Field, Project Management, and BIM/VDC teams to address quality issues and maintain project schedules\nSupport inspections and audits involving customers, general contractors, vendors, third-party inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction\nApply relevant project codes, standards, specifications, and established quality procedures\nProvide regular quality updates and reports to appropriate project and quality leadership\n\nQualifications\nRequired\n2+ years of relevant quality control, weld inspection, mechanical fabrication, or construction experience\nExperience with visual examination of welds, brazed or bonded joints, and fabricated materials\nWorking knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, drawings, weld symbols, and related documentation\nAbility to perform dimensional and orientation verification using fabrication or spool drawings\nFamiliarity with visual examination tools such as fillet weld gauges, V-WAC gauges, or similar inspection tools\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify and document quality issues\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work effectively with fabrication, field, project, and technical teams\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint\nAbility to work in both fabrication shop and active construction environments as needed\nPreferred\nAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT VT Level II certification\nExperience with mechanical HVAC, plumbing, piping, or process/utility systems\nFamiliarity with applicable codes and standards such as IMC, IPC, SMACNA, AWS, and ASME\nExperience with QA/QC turnover documentation, material traceability, NCRs, and corrective action processes\nExperience working with BIM/VDC and fabrication teams in
