We provide our global teams with the resources they need to achieve their career goals while developing solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges, from protecting the environment and keeping food safe to helping find cures for cancer.\nHow will you make an impact?\nJoin our AI & Advanced Analytics team as an AI/ML Development Engineer, focusing on knowledge graph and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems built on biological data.\nTogether with the team, you will apply advanced analytics, machine learning and AI to support proteomics discoveries across our R&D organization. You’ll help develop and deploy AI solutions that contribute to novel products, improve operational efficiency and support better decision-making.\nWhat will you do?\nYou will develop AI and graph-based capabilities in partnership with scientists and software engineers. You’ll help turn research needs into practical RAG systems and production solutions, while supporting adoption of our AI platform and graph data structures.\nKey responsibilities include\nBuild next-generation graph databases to support AI applications and productivity, including biomedical agents, protein folding and antibody affinity, and next-generation sequencing analysis.\nGather requirements from scientists who need RAG-augmented systems.\nDevelop proof of concepts for RAG systems and bring them into production in collaboration with software engineers.\nPromote and monitor the use of our AI platform and graph data structures.\nPartner with R&D scientists to identify requirements and develop features for production systems.\nHow will you get here?\nYou are a strong problem solver with attention to detail and a value-driven approach to your work. You communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and are motivated to improve efficiency and optimize development and delivery.\nWe are looking for someone who has\nA PhD or master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related quantitative field, combined with relevant industry experience.\nAt least three years of industry experience in software engineering, artificial intelligence, data engineering, computational biology or machine learning.\nHands-on experience building and scaling platforms with graph databases.\nStrong programming experience with languages and frameworks such as Python, C++, Rust, Cypher, SPARQL and SQL.\nExperience developing and running large language models (LLMs) and creating enterprise RAG solutions.\nExperience with production workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.\nExperience using Jira and GitHub.\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nThe following experience is considered an advantage\nFamiliarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Databricks.\nA background in proteomics.\nKnowledge of Databricks.\nLocation\nThis position is based in Uppsala, Sweden.
