Our global teams are based in Eindhoven (NL), Brno (CZ), Hillsboro (US), Hyderabad (IN), and Bordeaux (FR) - bring together expertise in hardware, software, and scientific applications.\nWithin this environment, we are strengthening our software capabilities for the TEM workflows and are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a focused, high-impact team.\nThe Role\nAs a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and lifecycle of applications contributing to the Semiconductor TEM workflow. These applications play a critical role in enabling semiconductor labs to process, analyze, and interpret microscopy data to measure critical dimensions of semiconductor devices during development and manufacturing.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role combining people management with technical leadership. You will guide the team’s day-to-day execution while actively shaping architecture, engineering practices, and technical direction.\nYou will work closely with product owners, scientists, and other engineering teams across sites to deliver high-quality software and continuously improve the way we build and operate our systems.\nResponsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers\nFoster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture\nSupport career development, performance management, and continuous learning\nContribute to hiring and onboarding of new team members\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide hands-on technical guidance in software design, architecture, and implementation\nAct as a key decision-maker for technical direction and trade-offs within the application\nEnsure maintainable, scalable, and robust system design\nContribute to critical parts of the codebase where needed\nEngineering Execution\nOwn end-to-end delivery of the team’s application, including planning, development, testing, and release\nCollaborate with product management to define scope, priorities, and roadmap\nEnsure high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation\nDrive predictable and transparent delivery\nEngineering Excellence\nPromote modern software engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews)\nContinuously improve development processes, tooling, and team efficiency\nEnsure system reliability, performance, and maintainability\nCollaboration & Impact\nWork closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, application specialists, and other engineering groups\nAlign with global R&D teams on standards, architecture, and integration points\nContribute to broader engineering initiatives and knowledge sharing across sites\nEducation and Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field\n10+ years experience in software development, including experience in a technical leadership or team lead role\nExperience managing or mentoring engineers (formal or informal leadership)\nStrong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and development practices\nHands-on experience with modern development tools and practices (e.g., version control, CI/CD, automated testing)\nAbility to balance hands-on technical work with team leadership responsibilities\nExperience working in cross-functional and/or international environments\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a global organization\nNice to Have\nExperience with scientific software, imaging, or data-intensive applications\nFamiliarity with C#, .Net, Python, or similar languages used in high-performance or scientific computing\nExperience working with distributed systems or large datasets\nInterest in life sciences, microscopy, or scientific research
