Within the domestic department, you will perform tasks such as retrieving material from manufacturing, transferring product to pallets, banding/wrapping product to pallets, storing pallets, staging trucks, and loading trucks. As well as using E1, Outlook, and Excel. You will also regularly use PIT equipment (power walkie, fork truck, pancake, stacker, and swing truck). Your impact will range from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient effectively because they have the right equipment.\nA Day in the Life:\nProcess customer orders daily to meet their expectations.\nWork in one or more process paths; receiving, storing, picking, packing, or shipping.\nPrepares shipping documents, coordinates shipments with couriers, and ships materials, including finished products, per applicable SOPs.\nEnsure inventory is stored accurately.\nWork with your team to make sure everyone has a magical experience every day.\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience:\nMinimum of one year of general warehouse experience.\nOne to two years’ experience working with computers and basic software packages, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.\nExperience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers).\nExperience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nMaintain knowledge of current import/export regulations as they relate to shipment of goods to and from the USA.\nAbility to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.\nSelf-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nSuccessful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.\nDemonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.\nPhysical Requirements / Work Environment\nAbility to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.\nAbility to work in different environments such as frozen, refrigerated, and ambient/room temp.\nAbility to work at different heights on Powered Industrial Trucks such as an Order Picker.\n Compensation and Benefits\nThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $18.75-$19.50.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
