As the world leader in serving science, our laboratory professionals bring their commitment to accuracy and quality to deliver groundbreaking innovations.\nThe Sample Coordinator performs a variety of sample and standard handling tasks in support of the laboratory. Follows established SOPs and responds to requests from laboratory staff with minimal supervision. Assists laboratory staff in following sample handling procedures and enforces these procedures as necessary. Possesses a basic understanding of several portions of the overall sample/standard process.\nWe have successfully supported the top 50 pharmaceutical companies and more than 750 biotech's, spanning 2,700 clinical trials across 100+ countries in the last 5 years.\nWhat You'll Do: \nPerform a variety of sample and standard tasks (receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, check-out, etc.) and participate in the physical return and disposal of materials in support of the laboratory.\nCommunicate the status of samples and standards to appropriate laboratory staff.\nGuide and advise laboratory staff on sample and standard procedures.\nComplete investigation and deviation forms as necessary and determine appropriate CAPAs.\nReview and provide feedback on laboratory requests, ensuring compliance with applicable SOPs.\nTrain on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements. Respond to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.\nPerform work assignments accurately, timely, and safely. Education and Experience Requirements:\nHigh / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification\nTechnical positions may require a certificate\nPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. Preferably 2 years of experience in sample management or relevant experience in a similar setting.\nUnderstanding of clinical specimen handling, accessioning, storage, and shipment requirements. Has proficiency in using LIMS (Laboratory information management systems) and has a good understanding of a sample management operations in a central lab settings.\nAble to independently manage sample workflow with minimal supervision and has good problem-solving skills.\nAble to communicate and work well in a team setting.\nHas prior experience training and is able to guide junior associates and support on-the-job training.\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nBasic knowledge of inventory flow and control\nKnowledge of laboratory and regulatory requirements (documentation, sample storage)\nAble to write/review SOPs and process improvement outlines\nFamiliar with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel\nGood written and oral communication skills\nEffective time management and project management skills\nProblem solving/troubleshooting abilities\nAbility to work in a collaborative team environment Working Environment: Thermo Fisher Scientific values the health and wellbeing of our employees.
