You will be responsible for team development, technical quality, and successful software delivery.\nYou will collaborate closely with Software Architecture, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Software Quality, and Product Management to align engineering priorities with product needs.\nThis role is part of the expansion of our Brno Development Center, offering the opportunity to strengthen our software engineering capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across our international R&D organization.\nOur Technology\nOur Desktop SEM business develops advanced scanning electron microscopes used worldwide in materials science, manufacturing, research, and quality assurance.\nOur software connects users with sophisticated microscope technology, integrating:\nModern C++ and Linux\nLow-level hardware control\nEmbedded systems\nImaging and data acquisition\nConcurrency and inter-process communication\nControl systems\nUser interfaces and software services\nNetworking and distributed components\nKey Responsibilities\nLead, coach, and develop a team of C++ software engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.\nSet team objectives, manage priorities, and ensure successful delivery of software development activities.\nSupport recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.\nProvide technical guidance during software design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and complex investigations.\nMaintain hands-on technical involvement with the codebase and microscope systems.\nPlan team resources, manage dependencies, and address technical and delivery risks.\nCollaborate with Software Architecture, Systems Engineering, Hardware, SQA, and Product Management.\nEnsure effective engineering practices for automated testing, CI/CD, software quality, and deployment.\nCommunicate project progress, technical challenges, and resource needs to stakeholders.\nDrive continuous improvement in software development processes, team performance, and product quality.\nSupport knowledge sharing and the growth of software engineering capabilities within the Brno Development Center.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nExtensive software development experience with strong proficiency in modern C++.\nExperience leading software engineers or technical teams, including coaching and developing others.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, design principles, testing, and debugging.\nExperience planning and delivering complex software development activities.\nKnowledge of Linux, embedded systems, or hardware/software integration.\nFamiliarity with C++ build systems, CI/CD, and software development tools.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to balance people leadership, technical quality, and delivery priorities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English.\nNice to Have\nExperience with one or more of the following would be an
