In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, ensuring robust architecture, high software quality, and efficient collaboration between teams and stakeholders.\nYou will work within an Agile Development Teamoperatingin aSAFeenvironment, collaborating closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Test AutomationEngineersand System Architectsto ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions to our customers.\nDevelopment and validation activities are primarily carried out on TEM microscopes and dedicated test benches. Building strong system-levelexpertiseis essential, together with a deep understanding of software and hardware interactions, customer workflows, and use cases. This knowledge is translated into scalable software solutions, robust system integrations, and maintainable architectures.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical leadership and guidance across the software development team and distributed sites\n\nDesign, develop, andmaintainhigh-quality software solutions for vacuum control and monitoring systems\n\nDrive software design decisions, and technical implementation strategies\n\nCollaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate requirements and user stories into technical solutions\n\nParticipate actively in software implementation, code reviews, debugging, and root cause analysis\n\nCoordinate integration activities across software and hardware components\n\nTroubleshoot complex system and integration issues together withcolleagues of different competences\n\nCoach and mentor software engineers to support technical growth and knowledge sharing\n\nContribute to effort estimation, technical planning, and risk assessment activities\n\nDrive continuous improvements in software quality, development processes, and engineering practices\n\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree with at least8years of experience, orMaster’sdegree with at least5years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, orrelateddiscipline\n\nMinimum8years of experience in software development for complex multidisciplinary hardware/software systems, such as control software or mechatronics products\n\nProven experience in technical leadership or coordination roles within Agile development environments\n\nExperience with system integration, software architecture, and software lifecycle management\n\nExperience contributing to process improvements and engineering excellence initiatives\n\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development methodologies\n\nProficiencyinC++, C#,and experience with modern software development practices\n\nExperience withUser Interface frameworks such asMFC, Qt, WPF\n\nExperience or familiarity with COM\n\nProficiencywith Unit Test frameworks such asNunit,Gtest/Gmock\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD environments, version control systems such as Git, and DevOps practices\n\nExperience with software quality processes, code reviews, and defect management workflows\n\nKnowledge of Agile development tools such as JIRA, TestRail\n\nFamiliarity with Model-Based Testing (Axini) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) is considered an
