This role focuses on testing embedded instrument control software and its integration with server, web application.\nYou will contribute to system-level and integration testing across instrument software, backend services, web applications, databases, and connected workflows. You will participate in requirements reviews, risk analysis, test planning, defect investigation, and verification activities for RUO and diagnostic products. Your work will help ensure that software is fit for intended use, mitigates identified risks, and meets applicable quality and regulatory expectations.\nWhat will you do?\nDefine the scope of testing within the context of each software release for web application and embedded instrument control software\nParticipate in writings EPICs and User Stories in JIRA by gathering the requirements from Product Management, System Engineering, Molecular Biology, global support teams. \nWriting test plans which includes testing objectives, testing phases, scenarios and test environment after a thorough analysis of the business rules. Estimating the testing efforts\nPlan, deploy and manage the testing activities for sanity, regression, system testing, integration testing, installation testing of the Embedded instrument control software and web application software during the entire development and verification stages.\nWrite and review test cases, test strategy, test data, reports, and trace matrices, ensuring design compliance and test coverage\nGenerate and maintain Test Summary Reports, bug reports, traceability matrix, risk analysis.\nInitiate and support product quality improvements.\nHow will you get here?\nEducation\nMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study.\nExperience\nBachelors degree and 8+ years of Software testing experience, or Master’s degree and 6+ years Software testing experience.\nSolid understanding of software development life cycle and software testing life cycle.\nGood understanding of testing methodologies, regression, sanity, performance, feature verification testing\nGood understanding of software testing best-practices.\nExperience in writing test plans, test cases, simulating test data for software verification of medical devices.\nExperience in new product development from product realization to product launch\nPrior experience in Agile software development methodology\nUtilized HP ALM and Jira,\nStrong expertise in Linux/Unix operating system\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities\nPrevious experience testing embedded instrument control software\nSelf-motivation, problem solving ability, organizational skills, thoughtful and detail-oriented\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nDriven to deliver quality results on time and in a highly ethical and professional manner\n Compensation and Benefits\nThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $125,000.00-$166,700.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
