This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our Claims teams; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.\nPosition Summary:\nAs a Claims Intern in our internship program, you will be a key contributor to our Claims teams. Possible tasks that you’ll assist with include:\nLearn how to research and confirm coverage for all types of property and casualty claims\nLearn the importance of claim documentation and data reporting\nLearn how to properly investigate a claim using communication and listening skills, witness information, online research tools, medical records, and/or vendor services\nLearn how to use your investigation to assess compensability\nLearn to read, review, and pay estimates, medical bills, and vendor bills\nLearn how to set and modify reserves on a claim\nLearn the importance of working closely with underwriters, loss control, insureds, and agents to offer superior customer service\nAttend off site claims-related tasks and events (i.e., inspections, depositions, court appearances, and/or mediations) with adjusting team\nShadow other positions within the company to learn more about careers within the insurance industry\nAssist with various projects as assigned\nRequirements\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:\nCompleted two years of college preferred\nWillingness to help with variety of tasks from data collection, entry, customer relations, claims resolution and everything in between\nProven time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and establish/meet deadlines\nSuperior customer service\nProfessional communication skills\nAn understanding of technology solutions \nAbility to work onsite at our corporate office in Anchorage, AK\nCompensation Overview:\nThe base pay offered for this position will be $21.00/hour\nMore About Western National Insurance Group:\nWestern National has long been known as “The Relationship Company®” and caring for our employees is part of that relationship commitment.
