Ideas go from experiment to production in days, not quarters.\n\nWe’re looking for a Strong Middle DevOps Engineer to own the infrastructure behind TheEngine. Every enterprise customer gets its own isolated environment, either in our AWS or in the customer’s own account. Your job is to make spinning up, securing and running these environments fast, repeatable and boring, all through Terraform.\n\nYou’ll work closely with our engineering team and with our US office, so a solid overlap with US Eastern Time is part of the role.\n\nStack\n\nAWS (ECS, VPC, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, multi-account setup), Terraform, GitHub Actions with OIDC, Docker, Python + FastAPI services, TypeScript frontend.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nOwn and grow our Terraform codebase: modules, state management, and multi-environment and multi-account deployments\n\nTurn a new customer environment into a single repeatable Terraform run, from roughly a day today down to hours\n\nRun and improve our environments: dev, stage, demo, and isolated per-customer production cells\n\nSupport deployments into customers’ own AWS accounts (BYOC)\n\nBuild and maintain CI/CD on GitHub Actions: OIDC to AWS, safe rollouts and rollbacks\n\nEnforce security that enterprise customers expect: least-privilege IAM, secrets isolation, network segmentation, audit trails\n\nSet up monitoring and alerting, respond to incidents, and keep the AWS bill under control (account structure, right-sizing, cost visibility)\n\nDocument infrastructure and changes so the team can move fast without guessing\n\nRequirements\n\n3+ years of commercial DevOps / Cloud / SRE experience, including 2+ years with AWS in production\n\nStrong Terraform skills: writing reusable modules, managing remote state, handling multiple environments and accounts\n\nHands-on experience with ECS, VPC networking, IAM, Secrets Manager and CloudWatch\n\nExperience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions\n\nDocker and containerized deployments\n\nScripting in Python and/or Bash\n\nSolid understanding of cloud security practices\n\nRegular use of AI tools in daily work (Claude Code, Copilot or similar)\n\nUpper-Intermediate English or higher;
