Zenith is unable to provide employment sponsorship now or in the future.\nOverview\nUnder general direction, develops, tests, debugs, maintains, and documents Java-based business applications. Completes the development life cycle for simple to moderately complex application components based on design specifications. Works collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and testing teams to deliver application enhancements and resolve issues.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and maintain Java applications based on business requirements and technical specifications.\nWrite and debug SQL statements to support application functionality, troubleshoot issues, and validate data.\nTroubleshoot application defects by reviewing code, logs, and database information.\nDevelop and maintain unit tests and support application testing.\nParticipate in code reviews and follow established development standards, security practices, and change-management procedures.\nDocument application changes and communicate progress, issues, and dependencies.\nSupport application deployments and production issue resolution as needed.\nApply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nWork productively with others and respond positively to direction and feedback.\nPerform other duties and projects as assigned.\nQualifications\nExperience with application maintenance, production support, or deployment activities.\nExperience with Spring Boot and Hibernate.\nExperience developing or consuming REST APIs and working with JSON or XML.\nExposure to unit-testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.\nFamiliarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.\nExposure to Docker and Kubernetes.\nFamiliarity with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.\nFamiliarity with Vue.js.\nBasic understanding of AWS / Azure.\nInsurance industry knowledge.\nFamiliarity with secure coding practices such as the OWASP Top 10.\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent combination of training/experience required\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required\nWork Experience\n3+ years related work experience required\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nWorking knowledge of core Java and object-oriented programming concepts.\nAbility to write and troubleshoot SQL statements, with an understanding of relational database concepts.\nBasic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for developing and maintaining user interfaces.\nFamiliarity with version-control systems such as Git.\nAbility to understand existing application code and implement enhancements and defect fixes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently on defined assignments and collaborate with team members.\nAbility to prioritize work, communicate obstacles, and follow through on assignments.\nPay, Benefits, and Other Information\nThe expected salary range for this position is $98,000 - $120,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
