An individual coming to Zenith will not only receive competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, but continuous opportunities to grow as a professional.Overview\nSolicit, underwrite, and price business consistent with the Company's Underwriting Philosophy.Responsibilities\nThe essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: \nManage an assigned book of Agencies including assisting in development and management of agency business plan. \nOperates with increased independence, such as taking a lead role in development of agency business plans. \nManages book of individual accounts and maintains pricing discipline regardless of market pressures. \nExpected to be regarded as a workers’ compensation expert by assigned agencies. \nCoordinates account activity across departments for assigned book. \nAssists in the development and coaching of support and professional staff. \nMay lead training courses for support and professional personnel. \nPerform external marketing activities (Agency calls, Agency meetings, leads Point of Sale meetings, etc) and clearly articulate and sell the Zenith difference. \nExpected to provide general guidance and direction to support personnel and underwriting staff. \nTakes an active role in face to face meetings with agencies and/or clients. \nWork requires independence within assigned Letter of Authority; however it is expected that one will seek guidance on any unusual or complex exposures, problems or issues. \nWork periodically reviewed by supervisor, corporate underwriting, and/or direct “customers” of the process. \nApply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. \nResponds positively to direction and critique of performance. \nConsistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor. \nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Req \nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Req \nWork Experience\n4+ years progressively responsible workers’ compensation underwriting experience Req \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nFull knowledge of workers’ compensation policy and underwriting rules. \nUnderstanding of Zenith’s underwriting philosophy a plus. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills required (including ability to discern when to use telephone, email, or more formal means of communication). \nDemonstrated presentation and negotiation skills required. \nDemonstrated ability to present persuasive verbal or written argument of all constituents (agent, peer, insured). \nStrong math and reading skills required. \nComputer literacy required. \nValid Driver License in good standing. \nPay, Benefits, and Other Information\nThe expected salary range for this position is $112,615.69 - $140,769.62. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
