As a Shift Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping that operation running - working hands-on with automated equipment, solving technical problems and continuously improving the reliability and performance of our systems. \nThis is more than a reactive maintenance role. Alongside responding to live engineering issues, you'll have the opportunity to investigate recurring faults, improve preventative maintenance, carry out root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site. \nYou'll be working in a fast-paced fulfilment environment where Engineering and Operations work closely together. You'll use your technical expertise to keep equipment performing at its best, while looking beyond the immediate fix to identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and performance. \nWe're looking for an engineer who enjoys getting hands-on, solving problems and understanding why something has failed - not just getting it running again. \nWhat You'll Be Doing \nYou'll be part of the site Engineering team, providing hands-on technical support and helping us maintain a safe, reliable and high-performing operation. \nYour role will include: \nDiagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical and controls-related faults across the operation. \nProviding technical support during live operational issues, ensuring problems are resolved safely and effectively. \nCarrying out planned and reactive maintenance across site equipment and systems. \nInvestigating recurring equipment failures and completing root cause analysis to identify long-term solutions. \nSupporting the development of our PPM programme and helping us move towards a more predictive and reliability-focused maintenance approach. \nUsing reliability and continuous improvement techniques including TPM, RCA, RCM and FMEA. \nIdentifying opportunities to improve equipment availability, reliability and overall performance. \nSupporting engineering projects, equipment upgrades and wider change initiatives. \nWorking closely with operational teams and coaching colleagues to build their knowledge and confidence when working with equipment. \nSupporting the completion of Health & Safety, quality and continuous improvement actions. \nMaintaining accurate engineering and maintenance records through our CMMS. \nEnsuring engineering activity is completed safely and in line with required standards. \nWhat We're Looking For \nWe're looking for someone with strong hands-on engineering experience who is comfortable working in a fast-moving operational environment. \nYou'll ideally have: \nAt least three years' hands-on electrical engineering experience within an FMCG, manufacturing, fulfilment, distribution or similarly fast-paced automated environment. \nAn ONC, NVQ L3, or equivalent engineering qualification. \nA strong electrical bias alongside good mechanical skills. \nGood knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic systems. \nExperience of PLC and servo drive fault diagnosis. \nA good understanding of planned maintenance, fault finding and equipment reliability. \nA strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe engineering practices. \nA proactive approach to continuous improvement and preventing recurring equipment issues. \nThe ability to work effectively with both engineering and operational colleagues. \n17th or 18th Edition would be advantageous but isn't essential. \nMost importantly, we're looking for someone who is technically curious, enjoys solving problems and wants to contribute to improving the way our operation performs. \nBenefits \nEnhanced Leave \nEnhanced maternity and paternity pay, depending on length of service. \nUp to 10 days' compassionate leave. \nBuy back up to 3 days each year. \nUnlock 2 days' volunteer leave after 12 months. \nWellbeing Support \nAccess to face-to-face and virtual appointments with our in-house GP. \nAccess to our in-house CBT therapist. \nAccess to our 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), provided by Bupa. \nState-of-the-art on-site gym. \nAccess to our on-site physio. \nOther Perks \nSave up to 12% on the cost of personal tech through our salary sacrifice scheme. \nTHG Ingenuity is proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
