Collaborates with stakeholders to understand data requirements.\nJob Duties\nDesign enterprise-level database architecture and standards.\nDevelop strategies for scalability, security, and high availability.\nPlan and lead database modernization and migration projects.\nEstablish data governance frameworks and policies.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.\nAnalyze and optimize database performance across platforms.\nPlan for future capacity and resource requirements.\nImplement automation for provisioning and maintenance.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and integrate best practices.\nWork with cross-functional teams on architecture decisions.\nMentor DBAs and developers on database best practices.\nMaintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documentation.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED \n7 years related work experience \nProficiency in relational and cloud database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, and Google Cloud SQL. \nStrong expertise in data modeling and architecture (ER modeling, normalization, schema design) and performance tuning techniques such as query optimization, indexing, and partitioning. \nIn-depth knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery strategies (clustering, replication, AlwaysOn) and security practices including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control. \nExperience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, T-SQL, and PL/SQL, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible for database provisioning. \nFamiliarity with monitoring tools (SQL Profiler, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SolarWinds DPA) and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX. \nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. or \nMaster’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. \nPhysical Demands\nLift and carry 7 lbs., continuous sitting >67%, frequent keyboard use/repetitive motion, frequent fine motor activity/wrist position deviation.\nJob Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
