You'll combine business analysis, SQL, reporting, automation, and AI-powered solutions to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nThis is much more than a reporting role. Success requires strong business acumen, analytical thinking, project leadership, and the ability to influence change across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Process Improvement\nAnalyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.\nPartner with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and business objectives.\nDocument current and future-state workflows and recommend practical improvements.\nLead process improvement initiatives from discovery through implementation.\nMeasure, track, and communicate the impact of optimization efforts.\nData Analysis & Business Intelligence\nUtilize SQL to analyze operational and financial data.\nIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities that support strategic decision-making.\nDevelop data-driven recommendations for business leaders.\nSupport reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.\nValidate data accuracy and improve access to meaningful business information.\nAutomation & Artificial Intelligence\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency.\nEvaluate and implement AI-enabled solutions that increase productivity and business performance.\nPromote the adoption of AI tools and best practices across the organization.\nSupport workflow automation initiatives using Microsoft Power Platform and similar technologies.\nProject Leadership\nLead cross-functional business optimization initiatives.\nCoordinate project plans, stakeholder communication, implementation activities, and timelines.\nBuild alignment across teams while driving adoption of new processes and technology.\nMeasure project success and communicate business outcomes.\nOur Ideal Candidate for this Role\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Business, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.\nExperience\n5+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, business intelligence, operations, construction operations, or a related discipline.\nExperience using SQL to analyze and interpret business data.\nProven success identifying and implementing process improvements.\nExperience leading cross-functional projects and organizational change initiatives.\nSkills & Attributes\nStrong analytical and critical thinking abilities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to simplify complex business challenges into actionable solutions.\nPassion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nExperience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies to solve business problems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within construction, real estate development, or related industries.\nExperience with Microsoft Power BI.\nExperience with DAX and data modeling.\nExperience using Microsoft Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools.\nKnowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience supporting Accounting, Finance, or Operations teams.\nExperience using advanced AI-assisted platforms such as OpenAI Codex, Anthropic Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies to improve analysis, automation, and business processes.\nWhy This Role Matters\nThe Business Optimization Analyst helps shape how Thompson Thrift operates by improving business processes, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and introducing innovative technologies that drive operational excellence.
