Thomson Reuters is a Canadian information company created in 2008 when the Thomson Corporation acquired the British news and data group Reuters, and it now sells research, workflow software and analytics rather than raw information. Its largest businesses serve law firms and corporate counsel through Westlaw and Practical Law, tax and accounting professionals through Checkpoint and ONESOURCE, and corporate risk and compliance teams through screening and investigation products, alongside the Reuters news agency. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto and New York, it has invested heavily in generative assistants embedded directly in those professional workflows.

Job Description

  • Own the web and app testing roadmap for registration walls, paywalls, and product journeys, partnering with Product and Engineering to continuously improve conversion and engagement.
  • Build install-to-paid acquisition strategies across mobile web and apps, and test campaign structures, audience segments, and ad creatives to improve efficiency across all acquisition channels.
  • Define audience cohorts from performance data to guide marketing and product decisions, and work with Product, Engineering, and Design to optimize landing pages, funnels, and onsite experiences.
  • Ensure the subscription value proposition is clearly defined across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Partner with Analytics on retention and churn analyses, identifying drivers of cancellation and opportunities to grow subscriber lifetime value.
  • Translate campaign, subscription, and testing performance into actionable insights, roadmaps, and recommendations, while overseeing marketing processes, timelines, and creative development.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing subscription growth strategies for a premium news media organization.
  • Deep understanding of acquisition funnels, paywall and registration strategies, user behavior, and subscription models, with experience driving engagement and growth across paywalled content.
  • Experience partnering with editorial, product, and marketing teams to grow digital subscriptions.
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions, including analyzing customer journeys, applying attribution models, and optimizing acquisition funnels.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to build data-driven strategy roadmaps with a detailed approach.
  • Core competencies: problem solving and original thinking, data-informed decision making, collaboration across a matrixed organization, and a commitment to shared goals.
  • Experience at a premium news media organization.
