This position was created to meet current Fleet demand signal of unmanned systems in the Mine Warfare enterprise, bridging legacy unmanned robotic systems into modern concepts of operations and exploring novel systems to close warfighting gaps.\nTypical Responsibilities:\nSupport new concept tactical development and emerging system analysis\nProvide insight during ad hoc workshops and conferences and respond to statistical queries of systems performance\nSupport and design test and data collection plans for exercises\nDevelop exercise messages and reports\nServe as observer aboard exercise units to coordinate observation and data collection efforts to support doctrine and tactical development\nSupport reconstruction, analysis, and reporting of exercise event objectives\nAnalyze exercise results IAW the Execution Plan\nCommunicate exercise results in oral and written formats to representatives of naval commands, engineering labs, and program offices\nSupport doctrine / TTP validation and product modifications\nLocation: Onsite at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA.\nTravel Requirements: Up to 20% travel is anticipated to include CONUS and OCONUS locations.\nTypical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., tight spaces, ladders, hatches), speaking or vision.\nTypical Pay Range: The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $105,000- $120,000/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.\nExisting Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim security clearance. A candidate with especially strong, relevant experience but no active security clearance may still be considered, but work start would be dependent upon a new Secret clearance being awarded.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalent\nTen (10) years of U.S. Navy experience relating to mine countermeasure, autonomous systems, and warfare tasks.\nThree (3) years of experience planning exercise activities.\nExperience in briefing and debriefing submarine crews on exercise event plans and mission results.\nExperience in Navy data collection, mission data extraction, and post mission analysis.\nCapability of preparing technical reports and correspondence.\nExperience in the use of analytical software tools such as MINEnet Tactical, Matlab, Statistical Analysis Software, and Microsoft Excel.\nProficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite.\nExcellent communication skills.\nAdditional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nFifteen (15) years of active-duty US Navy experience in surface, aviation, and expeditionary MCM operations with remote, robotic, and autonomous systems.
