The role entails such functions as kitting, assembling, and packaging. On the job training will be provided, no experience is necessary. While this role is located primarily in Newton, NJ, it may require travel to other Thorlabs locations.\nEssential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:\nMust be able to understand written work instructions and drawings for a wide range of products to properly assemble and test the final product to the highest of quality standards and with zero scrap or rework.\nAssemble components and products of varying size and complexity that includes cleaning, inspecting and testing of components and assemblies.\nMeets the expected assembly timelines that are outlined on the production orders\nRemain focused on the production orders and assembly responsibilities throughout the day and ask questions when instructions are not understood or clear\nMust maintain a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, policies and regulations. In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:\nMeeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.\nAdhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.\nThe Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.\nPhysical Activities:\nWork may be active, could stand or sit for long durations and/or perform repetitious work at times. The employee may lift or move objects up to 20 pounds. Employees must grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts and components that are often very small. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, may be noisy at times. Must be able to wear appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment such as but not limited to masks, glasses, gloves, and specialty garments. The required PPE and training allow for the safe handling and processing of chemicals like adhesives, lubricants and solvents, and safe operation of jobrelated equipment and tools.\nRequirements\nQualifications Experience:\nNone required, training will be provided. Experience in m anufacturing or hands on work preferred.\nEducation:\n\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\nSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:\nExperience in soldering is a plus.\nDem onstrated ability to work in a team environm ent and com ply with high quality standards.\nGood work ethic.\nStrong attention to detail.\nStrong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.\nBasic m athem atic knowledge.\nProficient in basic com puter skills such as Microsoft Office\nThe hourly rate for this position is $18.00\nThorlabs values its diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
