This role uses their technical expertise to act as a liaison between our customers and our engineering and manufacturing teams. Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.\nCollaborates as part of a functional team with Field and Inside Sales to provide technical expertise during sales lead qualification and opportunity development.\nWorks directly with Thorlabs customers to capture requirements for custom requests, communicate Thorlabs capabilities and technical services.\nWorks directly with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure custom solutions are aligned to a customer’s needs.\nMust be a US citizen/person to work on ITAR products\nRequirements\nExperience:\n2+ years of experience with optics and optical systems.\nExperience in technical sales or applications support is ideal\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in optics, physics or engineering related field.\nSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:\nProficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Viso). Advanced proficiency in Outlook and Excel, ERP/MRP systems or CRM is preferred.\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to multitask, be detail oriented, and creatively solve problems, all while under time constraints.\nWilling to constantly learn new technologies, new applications, and new developed products.\nAbility to write and speak English fluently.\nUp to 25% travel to visit customers as well as attend tradeshows.
