The culture at Thresholds is collaborative and supportive, providing you with the tools and resources you need for you to be successful.\nThe Security Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control devices. This role ensures that all systems function effectively to protect people, property, and assets. The Security Technician reports to the VP of Facilities and works closely with Facilities, IT, and external vendors.\nThis role will be serving Cook, DuPage, McHenry, Lake, and Kankakee Counties\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nEstablish and maintain consistent security baseline standards for Thresholds facilities, by facility type, in line with industry standards.\nInstall (in tandem with vendors), configure, and maintain security systems such as alarms, CCTV cameras, and access control devices. \nRespond to service calls, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs/troubleshooting to restore system functionality. \nMonitor and maintain access control systems across all sites including but not limited to 800+ security cameras, access control readers, intruder detection systems and alarm codes, fire alarm systems, and the key management system. This includes activating and deactivating Thresholds fobs, residential fobs, and actual physical keys.\nConduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. \nCollaborate with vendors and contractors during installations, upgrades, and repairs. \nMaintain accurate documentation of installations, maintenance activities, and incident reports. \nRetrieve and secure video footage or access logs for investigations in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies. \nTravel to various sites as needed to provide technical support and ensure security standards are met. \nOther duties as assigned. \nMARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvide technical training and guidance to onsite staff on the operation of security and surveillance systems. \nAssist in evaluating new security technologies and recommend improvements. \nParticipate in audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. \nSupport procurement processes by providing technical specifications for security equipment. \nCollaborate with IT to ensure network connectivity and integration of security systems. \nRequired to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, evenings and holidays. Offers on-demand support as needed.\nEnforce and execute routine audit protocols to safeguard sensitive and confidential information, including employee records, member health data, and security reports.\nEDUCATION:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required. \nAssociate’s degree in criminal justice, electronics, IT, or related field preferred\nEXPERIENCE:\nMinimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in security systems installation and maintenance.\nStrong technical knowledge of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), access control, and alarm systems. \nBasic understanding of network infrastructure related to security systems. \nExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. \nAbility to travel to any Thresholds location while engaged in work.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nCurrent and valid driver’s license is required.\nDaily access to a personal vehicle is required. Must obtain and maintain $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 bodily injury and liability insurance.
