You’ll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team, with responsibility for leading and developing the AML function. You will have the autonomy to drive improvements, introduce new ideas, establish effective processes, and take ownership of the team's ongoing development, playing a key role in shaping how the function operates and evolves.\nDay to day, you can expect your responsibilities to include:\nLeading the firm's client and matter inception and centralised AML processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements\nManaging, developing and supporting the Work Acceptance Team, promoting high performance, consistency and continuous improvement\nOverseeing AML policies, processes and controls, providing guidance on complex client due diligence, sanctions, PEPs and other AML matters\nMaintaining the quality of client and matter data, including data cleansing, reporting, auditing and supporting internal and external audits\nManaging third-party AML screening and identity verification systems, ensuring they remain effective and fit for purpose\nDriving process improvements, contribute to strategic initiatives and maintain team procedures, guidance and training\nWhile this role is based in Bristol, it will require regular travel to Bath and Swindon, as well as occasional travel to our other offices.\nAbout you\nWe’re extremely proud of the relationship we’ve built with our clients and referrers, being recognised as their trusted legal partner.\nYour ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with our fee-earning teams will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service and driving successful outcomes.\nYou will have:\nPrior experience of managing AML/CDD processes, client due diligence and electronic identity verification within a law firm or financial services environment is essential\nExpert knowledge of AML regulations with the ability to analyse complex documentation and make informed recommendations and escalations \nProven experience of leading and developing a team \nStrong analytical, organisational and IT skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently \nExcellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships \nDegree qualified, with AML qualifications or qualified solicitor status being highly desirable\nWhat’s on offer\nBy joining Thrings you’ll become part of a supportive, inclusive firm offering a relaxed and trusting environment allowing balance between being in the office and working from home.
