In this player-coach role, the Manager, Product combines deep product management expertise with people leadership to help teams build scalable, self-service capabilities that improve how engineers build, deliver, secure, and operate software across Thrivent.The Mgr, Product is accountable for the long-term vision, strategy, adoption, and measurable outcomes of their products. In Engineering Productivity, this means helping create the platforms, practices, automation, insights, and developer experiences that enable engineering teams to deliver software faster, more safely, and with less friction. Success is measured not only by feature delivery, but by improving developer experience, reducing cognitive load, simplifying software delivery, and enabling teams to operate independently through well-designed product experiences and paved-road solutions.\nThis leader partners closely with Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, Architects, and stakeholders across the enterprise to identify systemic challenges, understand customer needs, and translate those insights into product strategy and execution plans. They are expected to balance customer feedback, business outcomes, data, engineering constraints, and organizational priorities to make informed product decisions that create durable leverage across the software development lifecycle.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nResponsible for the long-term product roadmap as part of a larger business strategy. Develops a compelling product strategy through analysis of personas, use cases, customer benefits, and solution value propositions.\n\nConsistently and iteratively ensures that business strategies are being executedthrough product roadmaps.\n\nLeads team collaboration to manage and prioritize product roadmap and releases across multiple products.\n\nCollaborates to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner when they arise.\n\nAccountable to ensure that product teams understand the business outcomes needed, and that business outcomes are tiedto a broader business goal or objective.\n\nIdentifiesand tracks performance metrics both evergreen key performance indicators to monitorthe overall health of the product and objectivesto focus efforts on making specific, measurable improvements to experiences that drive positive outcomes.\n\nFacilitates conversations and coaching with product teams and relevant stakeholders to address gaps and necessary improvements to deliveringspecific improvements.\n\nIdentifiesand tracks Key Performance Metrics; accountable to ensure that KPIs are delivering the necessary business value.\n\nEnsures outcomes on the roadmap fit within capacity constraints and are prioritized and sequenced in order tomaximize value to the customer.\n\nEngages with customers and users on a regular basis to uncover implicit and explicit needs and translate to product hypothesis which are testedand refined to deliver solutions.\n\nCollaborates across product teams to develop and roll out operational plans.\n\nResearches and identifiesindustry best practices and trends to increase effectiveness.\n\nAcquires, maintainsand applies advanced knowledge of the business, its products and processes, and an academic understanding of Product Management.\n\nRecruits, develops, and sustains a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.\n\nModels Thrivent’s leadership competencies - Model the Way, Rally the Team, and Deliver Outcomes.\n\nSupports and/or develops an environment in which Thrivent employees and colleagues are focused on continuous improvement, exceptional employee engagement, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. Shapes and/or supports a culture that representsthe Thrivent purpose, promise and values, ensuring that Thrivent’s trust and reputation remain strong with its clients.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.\n\n10+years relevant business experience, including in product managerrole, product owner roleor similar.\n\nUnderstand fundamentals of iterative development, software development process and procedures.\n\nExpertisein the principles of Agile Product Management, stakeholder management, market and user research, technology management, and process design.\n\nHigh-level of organization and attention to detail.\n\nPassion and understanding of new technologyand trends.\n\nExcellent communication, collaborationand influence skills amongall organizational levels; strong facilitation and executive communications skills.\n\nPreferred:\nCertified Product Manager or similar certification.\n\nMayhaveprior supervisoryexperience.\n\nStrong ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicting priorities.\n\nExperience in developing and delivering product strategy, articulated in terms of value and outcomes with relevant and compelling metrics and measurements.\n\nExpertisewith foundational product management tools, techniques and principles across discovery, design, build, release, and measure cycle.\n\nProven experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams.\n\nDemonstrated experience with user interface design and best practices for usability.\n\nExperience working in large, complex organizational initiatives.\n\nAdvanced skills in MS Office Suite with particular emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.\n\nAdept at financial managementto administer budgets across multiple products and ensure the product meets its requirements for return on investment.\n\nPay TransparencyThrivent’s long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $161,072.00 - $217,920.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions.
