The Senior Salesforce Engineer collaborates with product partners, engineering leaders, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions, reduce risk, and drive meaningful business outcomes.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSolution Architecture and Systems Design\nReview and understand user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.\nPartner with the Lead Salesforce Engineer to define solutions that align with Salesforce best practices, enterprise technical strategies, and product priorities.\nTranslate complex business needs into maintainable and scalable technical solutions.\nParticipate in technical design discussions and document important solution decisions.\nDeliver solutions that meet expectations for quality, stability, scalability, security, and resilience.\nApplication Implementation and Maintenance\nDesign and develop Salesforce solutions using configuration, customization, and appropriate integration patterns.\nImplement new features and enhancements using established engineering standards and approved change-management processes.\nDevelop and maintain Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, integrations, and supporting platform capabilities.\nConduct unit testing including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.\nProvide ongoing support for service requests, routine maintenance, production incidents, and general application operations.\nTroubleshoot complex issues across Salesforce and connected enterprise systems.\nContinuously improve solutions to strengthen system stability, scalability, resilience, and maintainability.\nUse automation to streamline testing, improve delivery workflows, and reduce manual processes.\nSupport observability and monitoring capabilities that enable proactive issue detection, notification, and response.\nContribute to improvements in CI/CD, DevOps, development standards, and engineering practices.\nTechnical Leadership and Collaboration\nProvide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.\nHelp engineers build foundational development, testing, troubleshooting, and solution-design skills.\nShare product and domain knowledge so other team members can grow and contribute effectively.\nApply technical expertise to help the team investigate and resolve complex software issues.\nCollaborate with product owners, architects, business partners, and other technology teams.\nContribute to reusable patterns, technical documentation, engineering standards, and team best practices.\nParticipate in the broader technology community through internal forums, industry events, open-source contributions, or personal technology projects.\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:\nRequired:\n7 years of experience working in a Salesforce engineering environment.\nDeep expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. \nProficiency in Apex, including classes, triggers, and Batch Apex, as well as JavaScript, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce.\nExperience with Salesforce integration and data technologies, including REST, SOAP, Change Data Capture, Platform Events, SOQL, and SOSL.\nHands-on experience with Salesforce configuration and automation capabilities, including custom objects, approval processes, Flow, and Data Loader.\nAt least 3 years of recent experience with several enterprise integration or platform technologies, such as Java, Spring Boot, REST or SOAP APIs, Confluent Kafka, OpenShift, Docker, TC Server, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including tools such as Visual Studio Code or IntelliJ, Salesforce CLI, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jira.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across Salesforce and connected systems, including sharing and visibility challenges, bulk data operations, Apex errors, integrations, and external callouts.\nExperience working in an DevOps product environment and collaborating directly with product owners and business stakeholders.\nPreferred:\nSalesforce Administrator and Platform Developer certifications \nPay TransparencyThrivent’s long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $120,467.00 - $162,984.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions.
