This role manages global direct and indirect tax compliance, US tax obligations, withholding tax systems, transfer pricing documentation, and tax accounting. Operating from Manila, you will work closely with leadership to manage risk and streamline processes, functionally reporting directly to the Global Tax Director in Singapore.\nKey Role Responsibilities:\nGlobal Direct, Indirect & US Tax Compliance\n Manage complianceCoordinate and review corporate income tax returns for global entities.\nReview US federal, state, and local tax returns, including forms like 1120, 5471, 8858, 1099K.\nEnsure accurate filings for VAT, GST, and digital services taxes (DST).\n\nSupport audits: Assist in compiling information and responding to tax audits and ad-hoc queries.\nWithholding Tax\nReview transactions: Evaluate cross-border payments for correct WHT application and treaty benefits.\n Manage certificates: Oversee the collection and filing of residency certificates (TRCs) and W-8 forms.\nReconcile accounts: Monitor WHT accounts and ensure timely remittance to local tax authorities.\nTransfer Pricing\nMaintain documentation: Assist with the update of the local files and the master file.\nMonitor policies: Assist with the calculation of the intercompany allocations and review new transactions to ensure arm’s-length pricing compliance.\nTax Accounting\nCalculate: Calculate global tax provisions, effective tax rates, deferred taxes, intercompany allocations and transfer pricing adjustments.\n Process: Build and maintain complex financial models, pivot tables, and advanced formulas (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Index/Match) to automate data reconciliation.\nReconciliation: Align tax accounts with financial statements under IFRS or US GAAP.\nOur team player will encompass:\nProcess Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic fintech/payments environment; views changing tax laws and evolving internal processes as opportunities to improve systems.\nStrict Adherence to Deadlines: Demonstrates exceptional time management skills to consistently meet tight global statutory and internal reporting timelines.\nWillingness to Learn: Possesses a strong curiosity to learn new international tax jurisdictions, digital tools, and accounting standards.\nPositive Mindset: Maintains a collaborative, solution-oriented attitude when tackling complex tax challenges and working with cross-functional, remote teams.\nThings we are looking for:\nExperience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in corporate tax or Big 4 accounting, ideally within fintech, financial services, or payments businesses.\nUS Tax Knowledge: Direct, hands-on experience handling US tax compliance and reporting is highly preferred..\nSystems: Hands-on experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource is optional.\nAdvanced Excel Skills: Mastery of data manipulation, formulas, and large dataset analysis, including SmartView.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
