May perform basic root cause analysis.Job Description\nWe are hiring on 2nd shift.\nInspection & Measurement\nPerform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of copper busbars, sheet metal, CNC machined parts, weldments, and assemblies.\nVerify compliance with engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.\nPerform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin/thread/bore gauges, surface plates, and optical comparators.\nMeasure critical dimensions, hole locations, bend angles, thickness, flatness, perpendicularity, concentricity, and profile characteristics.\nConduct visual inspections for workmanship, finish quality, plating, burrs, scratches, dents, contamination, and cosmetic defects.\nVerify plating thickness, coating specifications, conductivity requirements, and material certifications.\nBlueprint Reading & GD&T\nInterpret engineering drawings, manufacturing prints, customer specifications, and CAD models.\nApply GD&T principles and verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, datum structures, material specifications, revision levels, and special instructions.\nDevelop inspection plans and determine appropriate measurement methods based on part geometry and tolerance requirements.\nSheet Metal & Busbar Inspection\nInspect formed, bent, punched, laser-cut, and fabricated sheet metal components.\nVerify bend dimensions, angles, formed features, hole patterns, and finished dimensions.\nApply knowledge of bend deductions, bend allowances, K-factors, material stretch/shrink, and flat pattern requirements.\nInspect copper busbars for dimensional accuracy, flatness, hole locations, edge quality, plating condition, formed features, and assembly fit.\nFirst Article Inspection (FAI)\nConduct FAIs per customer requirements.\nCreate and maintain ballooned drawings and characteristic accountability records.\nVerify and document all drawing dimensions, notes, specifications, and special characteristics.\nPrepare complete FAI reports and coordinate corrective actions for nonconformances.\nPPAP & Quality Documentation\nSupport PPAP activities for new product launches and customer requirements.\nAssist with dimensional reports, material certifications, process flow diagrams, control plans, PFMEAs, measurement system records, and capability studies.\nReview PPAP submissions for accuracy and maintain quality records per customer, ISO, and company requirements.\nNon-Conformance & Continuous Improvement\nIdentify, document, and contain non-conforming material; generate NCRs.\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.\nMonitor process performance, conduct capability studies, assist with audits, and recommend improvements to quality and manufacturing processes.\nCustomer & Supplier Quality Support\nReview supplier certifications, compliance documents, and inspection reports.\nSupport customer audits, quality investigations, and corrective action activities.\nEnsure customer-specific requirements are incorporated into inspection and quality processes.\nRequired\n3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience inspecting copper busbars, sheet metal components, CNC machined parts, and fabricated assemblies.\nStrong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.\nExperience with First Article Inspection (FAI), dimensional reporting, and PPAP support.\nProficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection methodologies.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP quality systems.\nPreferred\nASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).\nCMM operation/programming experience.\nISO 9001 experience.\nKnowledge of metal fabrication standards.\nKey Competencies\nStrong attention to detail and measurement accuracy.\nAdvanced inspection, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.\nStrong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nTeam-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.\nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job.
