The team facilitates the timely submission of official filings and corporate modifications while embedding these processes seamlessly into the member journey. By abstracting market-specific legal and operational complexities within the Tide application, the team ensures that members can rely on robust, automated compliance management. Building upon the foundational architecture established in the UK, current initiatives focus on transforming the service into a market-agnostic platform capable of dynamically adapting to diverse data sources. This entails orchestrating complex cross-domain data integrations, ensuring accurate data transformation, and propagating post-filing updates and metadata to downstream systems once external third-party processing is complete.\nABOUT THE ROLE:\nLead and own the end-to-end delivery of company secretariat functions, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements and market-specific nuances.\nArchitect, build, and maintain scalable distributed systems for seamless business management and compliance platforms with sustainable long-term strategy.\nCollaborate closely with product, compliance, and internal operations to define system architecture, execute key deliveries, and ensure all services are highly accurate, supportable, and fully compliant.\nDrive cross-functional engagement across domains to gain a complete understanding of their systems and optimise existing flows.\nMentor and develop team members through active hands-on technical delivery and leadership.\nGuarantee high system stability, operational reliability, and performance by defining SLOs, improving observability tooling, and supporting effective on-call practices.\nAlign with other engineering leaders to drive strategic cross-cutting infrastructure decisions and cross-team initiatives.\nShape the team’s roadmap and vision for upcoming quarters, presenting strategic plans clearly to senior leadership.\nManage team members, support their professional development, distribute workload, and ensure alignment on deliverable goals.\nChampion modern engineering practices by transitioning the team toward full-stack development and agentic workflows.\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:\nTide is seeking a hands-on, technical Engineering Manager to lead the Company Secretariat team. In this role, you will support and scale our existing UK platform while extending the service across new markets building a market-agnostic architecture that seamlessly integrates flexible data sources and ensures dependable, automated compliance filings on behalf of our members.\nKey qualifications and skills required for this role:\nProven track record in building and operating distributed systems\nStrong technical background (preferrably with the JVM ecosystem)\nHands-on expertise with third-party service integrations\nAbility to lead, mentor, and empower engineering teams\nStrong self-drive and capability to operate autonomously\nProactive problem solver who clears blockers for themselves and teammates\nAgile, adaptable mindset suited for a high-velocity environment\nOutstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities\nDemonstrated experience with AI-assisted and agentic workflows\nOUR TECH STACK:\nOur services run on AWS using Java and Spring Boot microservices, backed by AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) as our primary database. Asynchronous and event-driven messaging is handled via AWS SNS / SQS. We use Coralogix for observability, Gradle for builds, and GitHub for CI/CD with automated testing, security scanning, and Kubernetes deployments via ArgoCD. Our mobile applications are built with Flutter, while our web platform is transitioning from Angular to Flutter (web). \nNew joiners typically have something in production within their first two weeks.
