Requires ability to manage multiple projects at once including coordinating work efforts of internal and external resources as needed. Can provide these functions with minimal direct supervision.\nResponsibilities\nManagerial\nProvides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.\nMaintain staffing plan to meet business needs and objectives.\nAbility to manage multiple teams, some remote locations.\nAssist with new hire interviewing and review support capabilities and establish plans to improve staff performance.\nDeliver employee communications through regularly scheduled group meetings, one on one sessions, and yearly reviews.\nDefine employee goals and objectives.\nMaintain staff schedule to meet appropriate shift coverage.\nTask manage resources for complex or high-profile installations.\nOversee and drive projects to on-time completion.\nDevelop positive relationships with all marquis customers.\nProvide leadership in resolving/addressing customer issues.\nEnforce established policies and procedures.\nEstablish and enhance operations processes to drive efficiency and lower operational costs\nPlan and coordinate maintenance activities.\nEnsure appropriate levels of spares for all dedicated and managed servers and peripherals.\nTechnical\nDevelop solution alternatives to work around customer problems.\nSolid understanding of electrical principles.\nUnderstanding of networking and server computer services.\nUnderstanding of wide area circuit delivery.\nFacilities\nProactively assess datacenter facility requirements.\nCoordinate and oversee regular testing and preventive maintenance of critical facilities infrastructure.\nSolid understanding of critical facilities infrastructure (mechanical, electrical, life safety, security, etc.)\nUnderstanding of building management systems and controls.\nUnderstanding of datacenter best practices (hot-aisle / cold-aisle cabinet placement, service space requirements, power distribution, network cabling, etc.)\nUnderstanding of physical security and access systems.\nResponsible for delivering accurate monthly facility capacity metrics.\nEnforce and adhere to all facility standards.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.\nA minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in a technology-based customer support and data center operations environment.\nA solid understanding of the service provider business.\nAbility to coordinate projects and programs to ensure that all elements of work meet the quality standards, defined scope, and costs of the organization. \nAbility to manage projects/programs from concept development through implementation.\nAbility to lead and direct the work of others with or without the benefit of a direct reporting relationship.\nAbility to exercise independent judgment. \nMust exhibit a wide degree of creativity and latitude.\nAbility to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.\nAbility to utilize independent judgment and to support senior managers on operational type projects.\nAbility to work with personnel at all levels within the organization.\nAbility to work evenings and weekends as required overseeing critical maintenance activities.\nAbility to commit to be 'on-call' at all times.\nPrevious personnel management in a shift-based environment.\nStrong PC skills.\nAdequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills\nAbility to prioritize and organize effectively \nAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously\nAbility to work both independently and with others \nAbility to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines\nProficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications\nPreferred Experience\nPrior experience particularly in the data center industry\nPay Transparency TierPoint is committed to practices that promote pay equity and transparency.
