The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Mainframe technologies, IBM DB2 and, along with the ability to analyze business requirements, develop technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality code.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, Develop and maintain mainframe programs using COBOL, JCL, and other relevant technologies.\n\nDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using IBM DB2 and related mainframe technologies.\n\nWrite, optimize, and troubleshoot DB2 SQL queries and database operations.\n\nPerform impact analysis, root cause analysis, debugging, and production issue resolution.\n\nParticipate in requirements analysis, technical design, coding, unit testing, and code reviews.\n\nOptimize application and database performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.\n\nCollaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.\n\nSupport application releases, deployments, and production maintenance activities.\n\nPrepare technical documentation and follow established coding standards and development best practices.\n\nRequired Skills\n8+ years of hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe development.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with COBOL ,JCL and VSAM.\n\nGood experience with IBM DB2, including SQL queries, joins, subqueries, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.\n\nKnowledge of mainframe development, debugging, and batch processing.\n\nExperience in application maintenance, enhancements, and production support.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with distributed teams.\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with CICS\n\nKnowledge of DB2 utilities and database performance optimization.\n\nFamiliarity with mainframe tools such as File-AID, Abend-AID, and Xpediter.\n\nExperience with change management, version control, and release management tools.\n\nExposure to Agile development methodologies.\n\nWork Location and Model\nLocation: Bangalore\n\nWork Arrangement: Hybrid - a combination of work from office two days per week and work from home three days a week.\n\n Education\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n At Tieto, we believe in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
