More details at www.tiff.org.\nPosition Overview\nYou will contribute directly to TIFF’s technology initiatives by designing, building, and supporting software, data, and user-facing solutions. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivering high-quality, reliable systems and intuitive user experiences in close collaboration with colleagues across technology and business teams.\nThe ideal candidate is a capable software engineer, a strong team player with solid technical skills, has a user-focused mindset, and experience building modern front-end applications alongside scalable back-end services. They are comfortable working in an AI-assisted development environment and use tools like Claude Code or Codex to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.\nKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to\nApplication Development\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that support business objectives.\nBuild and enhance front-end applications with a strong emphasis on React and user experience design.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with attention to performance and security.\nCollaborate with peers and technical leads on solution design and integration.\nData and Reporting\nDevelop queries and integrations in Azure SQL Database, which serves as the firm’s central data repository.\nBuild and maintain pipelines and feeds to ensure reliable access to data across systems.\nContribute to business intelligence reporting, with Power BI experience strongly preferred.\nCollaboration and Delivery\nWork effectively within a Kanban-based team environment with daily stand-ups and transparent work tracking.\nPartner with colleagues to refine requirements, share knowledge, and deliver incremental improvements.\nContribute actively to peer reviews, collaborative problem-solving, and team discussions.\nDevOps and Continuous Improvement\nUse Azure DevOps for work tracking, source control, and CI/CD.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring applications remain stable and performant.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, automate, or enhance existing systems and processes.\nDocumentation and Compliance\nDocument designs, code, and processes for transparency and maintainability.\nEnsure compliance with firm policies and industry standards.\nQualifications\nCandidate Qualifications/Skills:\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\n5+ years of progressive software engineering experience, preferably in investment management or financial services.\nProficiency in C# or a comparable object-oriented language (e.g. Python, Java), with experience building web applications.\nFamiliarity with React and modern front-end development practices.\nExperience with relational databases, preferably Azure SQL.\nExposure to data modeling, reporting, or BI tools (Power BI strongly preferred).\nPrior experience working effectively in collaborative software engineering teams.\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in front-end development with React, with an emphasis on usability and performance.\nStrong problem solving, programming, and debugging ability.\nFamiliarity with Azure DevOps for version control and deployment pipelines.\nUnderstanding of integration techniques (APIs, data feeds) and secure coding practices.\nProficiency in working with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Codex) as part of the full development workflow, from planning and breaking down work through to implementation and review of generated code.\nCommunication\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.\nClear communicator, able to explain technical ideas to colleagues of varying technical backgrounds.\nProactive, resourceful, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis role has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may coordinate with external consultants or vendors as needed.\nWork Environment\nThis position operates in a professional office environment.
