At Tighe & Bond, you’ll find an engaging, hybrid work environment, a culture of collaboration, and the resources to support your professional growth and development.\nOur Structural Team and Projects Our Structural Team works on varied building projects across institutional, commercial, residential, municipal, and historic preservation markets, with a strong mix of design, assessment, renovation, adaptive reuse, field observation, and collaboration. We solve real building challenges, work closely with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and constructible solutions that serve communities.\nResponsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nAs a valuable part of our Building Services Business Line, as a Senior Structural Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, to ensure structural integrity, compliance with codes, and alignment with project goals through responsibilities such as:\nLead structural design for vertical projects, including new buildings, renovations, additions, adaptive reuse, and remodels. Design systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood to meet applicable codes, loads, and project requirements.\nPrepare and review structural drawings, specifications, design reports, and calculation packages using Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software.\nCoordinate with architects, MEP engineering disciplines, civil engineers, owners, and contractors to integrate structural systems with other building components and support constructability, efficiency, and compatibility across disciplines.\nPerform and oversee design and documentation in accordance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and other relevant building codes and standards.\nProvide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, performing site visits, documenting field observations, and resolving construction-related issues.\nSupport development of project schedules, scopes, budgets, technical approaches, and fee estimates, working closely with project managers to support timely and cost-effective delivery of structural engineering services.\nGuide junior engineers and drafters by providing oversight and mentorship on design approach, software use, technical documentation, detailing, field observation, and engineering judgment.\nContribute to structural team workflows, technical tools, design standards, and best practices.\nWhat You’ll Need\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering\n10+ years of experience in structural design, analysis, and leading projects\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license\nProficiency in structural design software such as RISA, MathCAD, Visual Analysis, Enercalc, and others\nStrong knowledge of building codes and standards\nExperience in designing multiple structural materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber)\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment\nPreferred Requirements\nMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field\nExperience with seismic design and performance-based engineering\nProficiency in BIM software such as Revit\nKnowledge of advanced analysis techniques, including finite element modeling\nExperience in a variety of project types, including bridges, dams, or industrial facilities\nYour Financial and Wellness Benefits\nCompensation is based on skills and experience as reflected in the pay range below\nAnnual Bonus, Profit Sharing, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan\nBest in Class Medical Insurance\nDental & Vision Insurance\nWellness Rewards and Reimbursements\nTuition Reimbursement and Qualified Student Loan Paydown Contributions\nReimbursements for Licensure/ Certification Preparation and Fees\nSummer Fridays Flextime and Hybrid Work Environment\nPet Insurance \nAdoption Assistance \nMore Information about Tighe & Bond\nWays to Grow Your Career We provide a structured career path with opportunities for professional development through tuition reimbursement, internal training, conference attendance, and professional memberships.
