Team Introduction

We are the TikTok Search Engineering team, dedicated to building a world-class mobile search experience. You will help develop high-performance, highly reliable search products that serve hundreds of millions of users, while tackling end-to-end engineering challenges in complex business scenarios.

Here, we do not define roles by traditional functional boundaries. As an Agent Engineer, you will not only contribute to the development and iteration of core search products, but also explore practical applications of AI Agents in engineering productivity, process automation, and product innovation.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.

Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals.

Responsibilities:

- Under the guidance of a mentor, participate deeply in the development of core TikTok Search scenarios such as the search results page. Work closely with Product, Design, and Algorithm teams, and drive feature iterations through A/B testing and data analysis to continuously optimize the search experience for hundreds of millions of users.

- Based on multi-platform technology stacks such as Lynx, Android, iOS, and Server, participate in the development and optimization of search business modules, and systematically build cross-platform engineering experience through real-world challenges such as performance bottlenecks and stability assurance.

- Integrate AI Agents into daily R&D workflows-from coding assistance and intelligent debugging to automated testing. Participate in the exploration and practical application of AI tools in search business scenarios, and be encouraged to bring forward your own innovative ideas.

- Assist in advancing program optimizations such as performance monitoring, exception management, and cache preloading. Participate in the full lifecycle from data collection to solution implementation, and develop a deep understanding of the engineering systems behind large-scale applications.

任职要求 / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.

- Solid programming fundamentals and familiarity with at least one mainstream programming language, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Go, with good coding style and engineering practices.

- Strong self-motivation, fast learning ability, and enthusiasm for exploring new technologies. Able to proactively break down problems and find solutions when facing uncertainty.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work efficiently with mentors and cross-functional teams to move tasks forward.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Aime to assist development, with the ability to describe specific use cases and outcomes.

- Basic understanding of LLMs and AI Agents, as well as concepts such as prompt engineering, function calling, and RAG. Experience experimenting with building applications or automated workflows using AI toolchains such as LangChain, MCP, or Agent frameworks.

- Exposure to cross-platform development technologies such as Lynx, React, or Flutter, or experience in mobile or backend development.

- Strong personal projects, open-source contributions, technical blogging, or competition experience.
