\n\nLocation: Port Harcourt, Rivers\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team.\nThis role is critical to supporting business decision-making and driving financial efficiency.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPrepare payments by verifying documentation and on approval by Management, requesting Disbursements.\nPerform all other duties as are assigned by Management\nInvestigate complex financial transactions and prepare reports summarizing the findings\nAppraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the property’s description, value and location.\nProvide internal auditing services for the company\nSecure financial information by completing database backups.\nCompute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.\nCompute and prepare monthly salary sheets for review and approval by the Managing Director.\nRepresent the company before taxing authorities and provide support in all financial issues\nMake authorized bank transactions on behalf of the Company\nReport to Management regarding the finances of the company\nIssue Pay Advice to staff and the Company’s subcontractors\nPrepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards\nAdvise Management on issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies and the assumptions underlying budget forecast\n\nQualifications / Requirements\n\nApplicant must currently be residing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State\nB.Sc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n2-4 years proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry\nMust be 35 years and above.\nICAN certification or ACA is an added advantage\nProficiency in accounting software: Sage, and Advanced Excel
