You'll lead a complex product area end-to-end, from strategy through execution, while working closely with our Principal Engineer, GM, and cross-functional partners across NIRA, Cashalo, and our US teams.\nHow you'll make an impact\nOwn a domain: Lead strategy, design, and delivery for a core part of NIRA's platform.\n\nSet technical direction: Spot strategic needs and surface risks before they become problems.\n\nDrive complex initiatives: Take large, high-stakes projects from design to ship.\n\nChampion AI-native engineering: Push adoption of tools like Claude, Cursor, and Augment across the team.\n\nMentor engineers: Level up engineers up to Senior, and raise the technical bar in Bangalore.\n\nLead incidents: Own SEV1 and lower incident response through to resolution.\n\nBridge global teams: Align with Principal Engineering and peers across NIRA, Cashalo, and US teams.\n\nInfluence the roadmap: Shape product direction through technical tradeoffs, not just execution.\n\nSimplify systems: Cut complexity out of designs before it compounds.\n\nWhy you're a great fit\n9+ years building web APIs, ideally in Java and Spring Boot\n\nDeep experience with financial systems: state machines, complex lifecycles\n\nStrong grasp of distributed systems and queue-based architectures\n\nProven track record scaling consumer products at high transaction volume\n\nEnd-to-end ownership: design, execution, and reporting on your own initiatives\n\nComfortable deciding fast with incomplete information\n\nA mentor who actively raises the bar for engineers around you\n\nGenuine enthusiasm for AI dev tools, not just tolerance of them\n\nBias for simplicity over clever abstractions\n\nDon’t meet every qualification?
