The OSP Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support for outside plant network operations and maintenance with a focus on fiber-based systems The candidate should have technical experience in outside plant design and working collaboratively with other departments.\nEssential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nThe engineer will identify, analyze, diagnose, and resolve network issues, as well as coordinate with vendors and other personnel to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of outside plant networks\nProvide leadership and direction to OSP Engineer resources\nManage and design hundreds of miles of outside plant for a major network deployment\nAbility to perform low level fiber engineering using GIS technology\nAbility to perform field visits and network verifications\nExperience in high level network design (splice and physical plant), and detailed engineering\nWork with other departments to ensure make ready management, permitting and fielding meet OSP design criteria\nReview permit and construction drawings for engineering integrity\nBe able to review as-built plans and test results\nAbility to work in ArcGIS/Pro, or QGIS environments \nMaintain orderly records and project documents \nWorking knowledge of pole line design and fiber construction, both aerial and underground\nAdditional duties and responsibilities as needed\nSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.\n2-5 years of relevant experience with OSP underground and aerial telecommunication leading and engineering preferred.\nUnderstanding of network architecture and supporting equipment.\nStrong understanding of outside plant engineering and construction\nKnowledge of NESC and RUS construction code as it relates to telecommunications rules and regulations \nExperience engineering in a GIS based program\nKnowledge of the permitting requirements across local jurisdiction\nDesktop and field quality control to support final client deliverable\nStrong project management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines \nExcellent verbal and written communication\nValid driver’s license\nCompensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $38.46/hr.-$43.26/hr.
