This salary position will be reporting to the Accounting Director. This role involves analyzing and controlling costs, preparing detailed financial reports, and providing strategic insights to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, public company reporting experience, and a commitment to maintaining the highest financial and operational standards.\nResponsibilities\nCost Accounting Oversight:\nManage and maintain accurate standard and activity-based costing systems.\nConduct cost analysis to determine profitability by product line, customer, or division.\nMonitor and report on cost variances and their underlying drivers (e.g., material, labor, and overhead).\nInventory Valuation and Controls:\nEnsure accurate valuation of inventory, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, following IFRS and public company reporting requirements.\nCollaborate with operations to establish inventory levels, reduce waste, and streamline production processes.\nOversee cycle counts and physical inventory processes to maintain accurate records.\nFinancial Reporting and Compliance:\nPrepare detailed cost analysis reports for management and external stakeholders.\nSupport the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations.\nCollaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance reviews.\nBudgeting and Forecasting:\nAssist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts related to production costs and overhead.\nProvide actionable insights and recommendations to achieve financial objectives.\nProcess Optimization:\nIdentify and implement improvements to cost accounting processes and reporting.\nDrive cost-saving initiatives across production, supply chain, and procurement teams.\nLeverage ERP systems and automation tools to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.\nTeam Leadership:\nLead and mentor a team of cost accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and professional development.\nFoster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the finance and operations teams.\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred).\nExperience:\n7+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.\nExperience with public company reporting and compliance (SEC and SOX).\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).\nAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream).\nIn-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.\nSoft Skills:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communication skills to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.\nHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with integrated ERP system implementations or upgrades.\nKnowledge of IFRS in addition to GAAP.\nExperience working in a multi-national company with cross-border operations.\nSuccess begins with hiring the right people to partner with us as we grow and develop our businesses.
