This salary, exempt position, will report directly to the Aggregates Plant Manager. The primary function of this position is to provide effective direction and leadership to the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Department, while ensuring the performance and safeguarding of the facility’s assets. The mindset of the candidate rotates around the optimization of equipment reliability, productivity, utilization of system capabilities, implementation of process improvements, reduction and control of plant costs, capital project planning, and maintenance planning.\nResponsibilities\nServe as safety champion to promote safe behavior within the maintenance department.\nAccountable for the effective supervision of all plant maintenance functions.\nEffectively manage the training and development of skills, knowledge and abilities within the maintenance department.\nEfficiently manage the maintenance department’s budget, while focusing on optimization and reduction of plant costs.\nLead engineering and execution of capital improvement projects including structural rehabilitation, mechanical upgrades, electrical improvements, and plant modernization.\nOversee mobile equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, contractor performance, and major shutdown planning.\nProvide project management directions to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.\nOversee the troubleshooting of technical problems for company operating assets and provide direction as required.\nReview overall maintenance results for compliance abiding by safety and industry standards and specifications.\nAdvise supervisors of labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, etc.\nContinually inspect and evaluate electrical and mechanical components of the facility and equipment for effectiveness.\nDevelop long-term operational excellence strategies that improve equipment up time, reduce maintenance costs, and extend asset life.\nOther duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related engineering fields) is required. Master’s degree in engineering or business administration is preferred.\n7-10 years of management experience working in manufacturing, industrial electrical or mechanical setting required (mining experience preferred).\nExperience with an industrial electrical setting which includes high voltage power distribution, transformers, motor control equipment, small to large motors and large generators, low voltage automation and controls, PLC, ladder logic and system control software.\nMust have excellent leadership and management skills.\nMust exhibit professional ability to deal with others and to create constructive working relationships and an overall positive working environment.\nMust communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.\nProject management skills and knowledge of basic financial analysis required.\nMust have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively.\nProven ability to work under tight deadlines, assist in the resolution of technical problems, and manage ambiguous information effectively.\nThis job description is intended to outline the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
