This position will focus on maintaining data quality, developing governance standards, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL development skills, experience with data governance, and the ability to collaborate with technical and business teams to support data-driven decision-making and advanced analytics.\nData Governance Analyst Responsibilities\nDevelop and implement enterprise data governance policies, standards, and best practices.\n\nBuild and maintain SQL-driven data validation checks and automated profiling processes.\n\nMaintain data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, and standardized data definitions.\n\nSupport AI and advanced analytics initiatives by ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance.\n\nImplement AI governance controls, including lineage tracking, versioning, and explainability.\n\nCollaborate with Finance, Operations, Actuarial, and IT teams to address data governance challenges and standardize practices.\n\nServe as a subject matter expert on data governance and support secure data sharing with internal teams, external partners, and regulators.\n\nMonitor industry trends and evolving data governance, data quality, and AI frameworks to identify opportunities for improvement.\n\nDevelop SQL queries to analyze datasets and resolve data integration issues.\n\nExecute templated SQL tasks to support accounting functions, including reversals and re-invoicing, while maintaining data consistency.\n\nSupport data warehousing and ETL processes to improve data reliability and accessibility.\n\nData Governance Analyst Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or college diploma in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of overall professional experience, including at least 2 years in data governance or data management.\n\nStrong SQL development skills, preferably with T-SQL, including queries, stored procedures, and query optimization.\n\nProven experience in data governance and data quality management.\n\nExperience implementing or managing enterprise metadata platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or similar tools.\n\nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.\n\nExposure to Microsoft Azure and Power Platform tools, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business solutions.\n\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.\n\nFamiliarity with AI governance principles and ethical AI practices is a plus.\n\nExperience with AI/ML workflows, including data preparation, feature engineering, and evaluation, is an asset.\n\nFamiliarity with PySpark is a plus.\n\nExperience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is preferred.\n\nCertifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are a
